Bitcoin is like that game you played in Junior High where your teacher told you that your classroom was a new country and everyone in the country used Mrs. SmithBucks, which you could only earn if you rolled a 3 or higher on these dice that she passed around.

And then she left the room and a few students grabbed the dice and kept rolling them and pulling photocopied Mrs. SmithBucks out of the little Ziploc baggie on her desk, and some of the other students complained but the rest of the class didn’t care because the whole game had been boring to begin with.

(This might be based on an actual game I played in Junior High, where the teacher did in fact leave the room partway through..)
