Keep it simple! A paragraph is fine.

“I’m pitching the story of last summer’s vacation. Last summer we saved up for nine months to book an all-inclusive resort. When my partner got sick two days before the vacation, we thought we were going to lose all of that money—and then a friend on Facebook told us to see if our credit cards provided trip insurance. This is the story of how we got most of our money back, and even though we missed out on our resort vacation, we’re planning to go this year.”
